Kids in Hot Cars Training

Task 305: Identify the characteristics of a safe and healthy environment.

 

Click the blue link for this 20-minute training. https://training.nsc.org/hot-cars/  

 

Follow the instructions. When finished, email the certificate to me at tbrodish@ap.tec.pa.us. You can screenshot, take a picture, or save to your computer and then attach it to an email. Print the certificate if you can. If not, we will print at school at a later date to have for your portfolio.

Quick Lesson Planning

Task 803: Determine and write objectives.

 

 

Look at the picture. This Shape Sorting activity would be easy to make for families who are now teaching their children at home. Family members would collect items around the house for children to sort (or classify) into shapes. Think about how you would create and teach this activity. Answer the questions below. 

 

  1. What age do you think this activity is best for?
  2. List all of the materials you would need (at least 5).
  3. Write an objective for this activity (The preschool children will…).
  4. Write the procedure for this activity (step-by-step directions).
  5. Write at least 2 questions you could ask the child.

Process-Focused Art

 

Read the article Process-Focused Art (click on blue link). Answer the following questions into an email to me. If you can’t email me, use this Google Form instead. 
 

  1. From the article, name 3 characteristics of process-focused art. 

 

  1. From the article, what is something a child might say when doing process-focused art?

 

  1. From the article, name 3 characteristics of product-focused art. 

 

  1. Why would a child say “I can’t do it!” during product-focused art?

 

  1. If you were to create an art activity for a preschooler, which type would you choose? Process or product focused art? Why?

  2. Do you remember where you should hang children’s artwork? We discussed it this year in class.

 

Last week's assignment was to work on Building Blocks Training or Safe Sleep Ambassador Training. If you haven't finished these trainings, keep working on them. When finished, email the certificate to me.

Week of April 20th Assignments

 

Building Blocks/Safe Sleep Ambassador Online Training 

 

This week you will be working on the online trainings. Start where you left off in class by logging into the links below. You do not need to complete the paper packet work along with the training at this time. I will be emailing Usernames and Passwords to all students. You do not need to finish the training this week but work on it over the next few weeks. On Friday 4/24, email me what page you are working on. This will count as your assignment participation for the week. When finished with the entire training, email me the certificate. If you can’t or do not know how to do this, email me. tbrodish@ap.tec.pa.us or call/text at 814-419-4882. ** Please put a subject in the subject line when sending an email so it does not go into a spam folder**

Handwashing

2. Read this Handwashing vs. Hand Sanitizer document. (click on the blue link)

 

3. Show someone in your house how to wash hands correctly. Remember the steps we discussed while preparing for the NOCTI exam.

Tip: Copy and paste the questions into an email to me.

 

  1. Write the name of the person you demonstrated handwashing to. 

  2. What did they do correctly?

  3. What did they do incorrectly?

  4. List 5 times during the day you should wash your hands. For example, after petting or touching an animal. If you can’t think of 5, you may research (Google).
